Every summer, when the snow melts in the upper reaches of the Himalayas, our beekeepers begin a grueling 4,200-meter ascent into the alpine meadows of Kashmir. This is the High Altitude Wildflower Run—a tradition passed down through generations to harvest some of the rarest, purest honey in the world.
The Alpine Terroir
At these elevations, the air is thin and free of pollutants. The bees forage exclusively on rare, high-altitude wildflowers that only bloom for a few short weeks each year. The resulting honey is extraordinarily light, floral, and packed with trace minerals unique to this rocky terroir.
A Journey of Patience
This isn't commercial beekeeping. There are no roads; everything is carried entirely on foot. The hives are carefully positioned facing the morning sun, allowing the bees to make the most of the brief alpine daylight.
By late August, the honey is ready. It is harvested by hand, cold-pressed to preserve its delicate enzymes, and carefully brought back down the mountain. The yield is small—making this truly limited batch—but the taste is incomparable. It's the essence of the Kashmiri mountains, captured in a jar.
